Popping on standard exhaust?

Hi all, tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything conclusive. My SD (standarD) makes popping sound when decelerating. Sounds quite good but is this normal. I've only had this on different bikes in the past when i've fitting aftermarket pipes but this one does it at stock.

Does it indicate anything to worry about or do I carry on enjoying it?

If it still has SAS system attached then it is completely normal. If that has been disabled then it isn't and you need to change the graphite gasket that is in the join 8 inches down from where the rear header bolts on to the cylinder head. This could need changing anyway as they are a service item every 9k miles. Mine never made it to 9 k miles

As above! The SAS bleeds air in the exhaust port to clean the cat, it is like having a air leak in the pipes somewhere. If the SAS is still connected the all pop.

I'm about to change graphite gasket again. Now about at 23000km. While doing that I was thinking about cleaning headers properly. What would be your poison of choice for that job. Headers are OEM Akra ones as R's have.
