Look - here's the deal. You generally get out of something what you put in. Is it reasonable to expect that someone just immediately dig up for you whatever it is, when its already right here?

Then there's the problem of your expecting everyone to know what year your SD or SDR is - which also has some bearing on your question.

You can search the site (via the site's feature or google) to obtain the answers to all your questions, and probably far more than you ever imagined. A lot of good people have put in an impressive amount of energy toward the site's content. Why not take advantage of it?

You can rip owners and service manuals down (again, search superduke.net for where to get them) - and have the sprocket information handy forever.

If any of this is just too much effort, you could even go look at your bike and count the damn teeth already.

No shortage of self-service and nearly immediate answers to your inquiries.

Somehow this thread eluded me. Could not see how it made it to page two.
SDNerd's at it again. Running up the word count with words about counting ,all the while spewing on countlessly.
I traded out a thirty eight for a try at forty. Was a waste of Tyne. Bike pulls the same and tops out better left alone. Sort of like posts that are sans the ramblings of fool suffering gits.

The one place gearing choice it is very noticeable for me is riding in town traffic. As I live in central london this is a consideration. Nothing worse than having to be constantly slipping the clutch while making progress. 17/38 is clutch slip city. 16/40 is ideal but I can live with 17/40 just and its great out on the open roads and is kinder to the chain at the front sprocket.
