I need to remove the passenger pegs from their brackets, and I'm having a hell of a time. Does anyone know a trick on how to get these off ? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Dave

I'm wanting to remove the pegs from the brackets. I want the brackets to stay on the bike without the pegs.

You need a center punch and a hammer to tap out the pin , after of course removing the cir-clip holding it all together,, the pin is grooved so as not to spin around when installed,,,it will pop out with a little tapping,,,,,,

Hi guys. I was thinking about removing my passenger pegs and the bracket connected to the subframe as I never have anyone on the back. Plus it would clean up the back of the bike. I still need to have a bracket or something there to keep the plastic from pressing against the heat shield. I'd make something for that. Has anyone done this? I'm guessing the subframe wouldn't be weakened too much. Btw the bike is a 2008

No problem
do it
But think about the truth that passenger pegs are the best crash protectors you can have on a SD

Hi,
I took mine off the other day. Very easy job and no need for any other adjustments as nothing rubs or is left unsupported. It saves a small amount of mass but mostly it's just a cosmetic improvement.
