I've slowly been storing parts to upgrade my headlight mask.
I've seen a really handy thread about changing clocks (was going to do this) but ideally I'd like to keep my current clock, obviously my rev counter will need to go.
Really I want to keep both speedo and Revcounter, so was scrolling and found someone mention on another thread about an led light system or shift light and wondered if anyone has done this as I think this would be a better route.

I use a motoscope mini for rpm, but I would have preferred a LED bar, could not find one at the time
This one has it too, but its very small. It also flashes very clear when you reach you top rpm, but I rarely rev it that high

Are they easy to install?
as you said the Rev counter alittle small for me. Ideally after the LED system that you mentioned. All I seem to find are home made ones or one for a triumph!

Is this just for cosmetic reasons?
The rev limiter on the SD is pretty dramatic, bit like hitting a brick wall and so over speeding the motor is not likely and there are plenty of vibes / sensations to let you know when you're getting close.

Nope this thread can live again..
I had a very surprising call today asking if i wanted a Datatool revlight.. (it seems the good people from Data tool answered my email)
so basically before i get the instruction i wanted to see if anyone else has done this? and a run through of what they did would truly be appreciated.

I'm in agreement that you don't need a change gear shift indicator. If you can't feel when to change gear then you have no sensitivity to riding a motorcycle. The SD engine is not a 'red line' engine anyway, you know when to change up, it tells you.
But I have a gear position indicator and that's really useful. Especially on motorways when you keep on trying to change up from 6th!

I understand what yourself and others have said about it.
But I a a newbie and even though I'm learning (very slowly) I am getting there slowly.
I just think for now some kind of revs indicator would be handy.
