Getting ready to install the reverse gear shift kit on my 07 Super Duke it looks pretty straight forward. Is there anything weird I should be on the lookout for? If there is a heads up would be much appreciated.

Nothing strange at all except for how hard it is to retrain your brain. Youll be kicking yourself in the ass for your failure to remember down is up and up is down. Id be willing to bet there are several hundred of theese reverse shift pattern doohickies laying in the bottom of tool boxes all across the world. My hardest time was upshifting to third in a wheelie. This is where my multi-tasking ability reached failure stage. Sort of like chewing bubblegum and walking.

Why do you think you need one?
Only reason I see the need is tracks with a lot of left handers that you need to shift thru and you can't get your boot under because of the lean angle.
Portland PIR track has only one left hander.
You do a lot of track days?
DD is right on this one.....it will just fook with your head.

If you just road ride it's true it isn't really needed but on track its a blessing. Just makes more sense to push down to go faster somehow. I find it as useful on lefts as rights as upshifting on a right you really don't want get your foot under the peg and pressing down makes more sense.

and when you start using it it's dead easy to get your head round, what does mess with your head is when you take your road bike and track bike on the same track day and have to remember to switch which way you shift

Had a bud pitch one of his old bikes off a mountain.
The rear brake and shift levers were on opposite sides as modern bikes.
He was taking it easy coasting down hill, thougt he was using the rear brake and stuck it in gear, and locked the rear wheel up.
