Anyone know or measured the stock front / rear weight distribution for the SD / SDR

I've got two bathroom scales. Would that do the trick? They aren't calibrated and would probably be a bit off making it all for nought.

An 05 will be different to an 07> which will be different to an SDR.

To make it fair they would all have to have the exact same amount to fuel in the tank.
They would all have to be on the same gearing too and standard fork heights in yokes. Where the axle is in the swingarm makes a big difference.

You'd need to have all those things constant to get an accurate comparison. An 05 on 16/40 would be a lot different to an 07> on 16/38 so it wouldn't be a fair comparison.

Which way are the axle blocks facing? Big notch bit towards rear or towards bolts? Standard length chain?

177 with the carbon wheels on?
That's interesting. That means with carbon wheels I could be bang on weight with the triumphs.

I've been doing some sums and haggling with suppliers recently. I recon I can get roughly 1kg off for every £100 of titanium bolts.

Been out for an hour for a good blast round the lanes, first good thrash since fitting the SDR shock and setting the bike up,

Big improvement over the standard shock setup, loads of feel from the rear, really compliant over the rough stuff, no kicking off bumps, no slides just feel and grip, whats surprising is the front is loads better to, more feel and no bar wagging, nothing not even a little wiggle on the power crossing white lines
(no steering damper) I used to get some bar wagging with the stock SD shock and old setup,
The new tyres are great, Rosso Corsa`s noticeably faster turning especially going from left to right lean than the old Diablo Corsa`s more feel and side grip to

It would interesting to have some corner scales and weigh the bike, then make some of the changes mentioned and weigh again.

I think you'd be suprised - some of them don't change the rear / fwd bias AT all.

That's exactly what I've been doing to get the bike working Pete. Your right, some things don't make much difference. But some make a huge difference.

Axle position/wheelbase combined with fork height is what's got it all working shit hot. But then fork height has to be compensated for through air gap and preload.
