Hi
I have a 2008 Superduke and I am very interested in some sort of self tune, Power Commander V, Motty AFR or Bazazz as I intend to update my bike as I go and the thought of going to the Dyno everytime I strap something on my bike is not a route I really fancy. So, what experiences has everyone (anyone) had? Do any of the systems do different maps for front and rear cylinder? Is Motty's still going, and if so where? Does the Power Commander fit a 2008 (is it that different from a 2009?)
Any info would be really helpful.
If I had a choice I think I would go the Bazazz
The bike is currently pretty standard but does have a full Acroprovic system, not sure what air filter but it is in the original air box.
Any suggestions on a interim map for this set-up to put on using TunECU would be appreciated.
Thanks

The PC works with all SDs. A few of the guys here are using it, and I believe that they do individual cylinder mapping.

One of the lads here also did the R&D for the Bazzaz, not sure how anyone's got on with it, so no details from me.

The power commander Auto tune AT-300 uses 2 x 02sensors so it maps each cylinder individually the bazazz only runs one.
As for setting the bike up to use the PCV and Auto tune have a look here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17946&start=25 and set up like Kevxtx recommends you will have to scroll down the page a bit.

Dyno operators use broad range sensors which are much more expensive than the stock sensors which work within engineered ranges. Or so I have been told.
Changing shit on your bike that effects fuel/air mixture without properly mapping is inviting premature failure, imo.
But then my experience with the SD is operating it on the fringes of engine performance, not simply riding it.

Stupid Question No.1
What is the F/L?
Stupid Question No.2
If you have a single Lambda sensor system could you put it on cylinder No.1 and let it set up. Then put it on cylinder No.2 and let it set up and then compare both new maps and make or merge the relevant changes?
Stupid Question No.3
Is there any future option to auto tune the TunECU software?
Thanks

Do you remember Mr Sweet?
Strontium Dog was brilliant, I started reading Star Lord from issue 1, eventually it linked with 2000ad. I wish I had kept them all but alas no. I nearly got the picture of Judge Dredd at the foot of the Statue of liberty from the story line America on my Helmet but didn't in the end.
Oh well. Well I think I have just shown my nerdy side there a little!

Hi
Yes I have a cable but I have only just got it so I haven't had chance to connect it up yet. By the way when using it does the engine have to be running or not? On my Aprilia for the the Power commander the engine had to be running.
Still not sure what F_L switch is and the only bit of "Map (L) to TPS(F)" I understand is TPS for Throttle Position Sensor
I assume that Map (L) is some fixed map? And the TPS (F) takes into account the Throttle Position...... or something
Treat me like a complete idiot and you won't be far wrong

I have a similar question as to what exactly the F/L switch is and what the number or percent means? I recognize that it means switching between the L tables which are based on mass airflow used at low TPS settings and the F tables based on TPS position. The base map I'm using is the Akro map as I have Akro pipes, Rotweiler filter with PCV + autotune. The F/L settings in this map are: 12@1000-1450, 16@ 2000,18@ 2400, 24@ 3500, 25@ 4000, 35@ 10000. So why does Kevxtx recommend setting the switch to 50% across the board?

I have tried different set ups with and without PCV and the best is with FL at 50.
If you have a PCV Auto Tune give it a go you will be impressed.

Agro OK, I'm willing to give it a try. Set F/L switch to 50% across the board, and the AFR @ 13.1 from 0-2% and 13.2@ 5% and above. Still curious as to exactly what the switch does and what the percentages mean.

Does the Lambda sensor of the Power Commander Auto Tune fit directly into the standard exhaust? And what about a full Acroprovic?
Thanks

Yes it does, sometimes the small lip in the exhaust needs to be honed, filed or drilled out.
Can be done with the exhaust on the bike but is a bit of a pain.
There is a thread on it somewhere.
