So I have an SIL that went off.
Background:
I never messed with the clock, US/Metric or date settings. I fixed the clock and the date and switched to US settings (it adjusted everything). The date actually showed the year 2014. The bike IS a 2015 so it must have the old programming on it? Anyway, after doing this and riding a bit, the SIL tripped. I have not had my first service yet as I haven't hit 600 miles.
So, do I reset the system to clear the code (how btw?) or am I wrong in thinking that the system probably just recognizes that it has been 2 years (change from '14 to '16) since oil change? Were this any other motorcycle I've owned that didn't have idiot lights and computers tracking all of this stuff, I'd have reset and ridden to see if it went off again, but this bike is pricey and I'd hate to damage it by doing something foolish.
Thoughts anyone?
