Sigma clutch advice please

Just bought a unused Sigma clutch that's never been fitted but has no instructions.
I've read the fitting thread by Superdan and some other stuff but would like the current take on the best set up.
The clutch comes with its own springs but some seem to fit GSXR K5 springs and there is talk of some guys fitting steel plates as well. The Sigma site says fit their basket with springs with the bikes stock plates.

What's the best advice from users

Oh yeah, what's the tool required to tackle the large centre nut?

If I recall correctly, mine was installed with GSXR springs.

One SD plate was removed and a GSXR plate fitted in it's place. The thickness of that plate determines how much slip you get.

It's always been spot on.
I chose the thicker of the GSXR plates so I still have a lot of engine braking.

As far as I know, my Sigma was fitted as per their website - unknown race miles plus 50k road miles with no problems and visually looks almost as good as new.

I'll send you the cd with instructions on it if you want.

Just measure the pack and adjust from there. The standard SD plate is the same size as the middle GSXR one. It's just the GSXR ones come in one size thicker and one size lower so you can alter the slip.

I used the Suzuki springs too as they came with my used one. The std ktm ones will be way too weak.

Tbh you'll be able to fit it up with the GSXR springs instead and away you go. Might be about right. I needed a bit more slip so went to the thinner 2mm plate. Posted it in the sigma thread.

Sorry for the bit of a hijack, but does this mean GSXR plates and steel bands fit the SD?

When I said plate I meant the steels.

Two .pdf's sent to your email address - I thought I had the reference photos as well but I don't so you may have to borrow the CD offered by Viking - I, unlike Dan, have always found Sigma very helpful but then I have always spoken to Neil Spalding (as in Eurosport MotoGP) and I understand that he may have sold the business to his colleagues.

Yeah the impact wrench above ^^^^^^ get one with LED on it so you know what your torquing it too.

It was Spalders I spoke to, cock end, and im pretty polite, probably because I bought a used one and not a new one.

everything else has been covered I think.

Once fitted, would be interested to know, with the bike on a stand, engine off, clutch lever in and first gear selected, whether you can turn the rear wheel easily by hand - just changed my clutch fluid in my usual way (fully bled of air) but noticed that the clutch was not fully disengaging and could not turn rear wheel by hand - off the stand with the engine running, clutch lever in and first gear selected, though, there was no bigger clunk than usual and no apparent clutch drag/creep.

Cerec1, yes that's right.

47, no you can't turn it freely by hand and it will drag if pushed in gear with clutch in. Frees up once hot though

Cheers Viking, thought that might be the case but had not noticed previously.

Ok, I'm going to fit my Sigma slipper this weekend in time for Crashfest. Last question ( I think ), I've got the impact driver to get the clutch basket off, how do I lock the basket up to torque it back up? And what's the torque setting

Press the reverse button, basket just fits in easily.
Think it was 50 or 150 it should say in the torque settings in your manual, I dont have one.
