Hi guys

Haven't been around for a bit been in canada working,

Last time I rode the sd was at snetterton and halfway through the day I came into the pits and it completely died coming into pit lane. Tried to bump while still rolling but realised electrics were gone.

I got the battery out after about half an hour and it was really hot. Like hard to touch hot.

I got the battery out of my cbr 600fx and got it in and bike ran perfectly the rest of the day.

Do we think its just a dead battery or a reg problem? Anyone had the same issue?

About to order a battery but don't want to cook another one?

Thanks

Matt

Had this on a car, had to change the recefier. Check the charging voltage.

Yep sounds like rectifier, clearly not recharging itself.

You will probably need a new battery anyhoo if an optimate says its dead.

Thanks boys

I think it's toast, I've ordered a battery and do the necessary checks when it arrives

Best option for a rectifier?

Defo the reg/ rectifier!
Use a shindengen, pretty much the muts nuts at the moment and hardly more expensive than original I guess.

Examples here: http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/catal ... -Rectifier
and here: http://roadstercycle.com/Shindengen%20F ... %20kit.htm
