Hi

I have a 2007 Superduke

I have 2 problems with my bike, after i installed the Motohooligan airbox, removed the SAS system and used the connector from the kit, the bike started to throw error code 49. Idle Control motor, do i need to change the whole thing?

And my recent problem is that it won't start, the starter cranks one time only. I tought it was the battery, so tried startbooster without any more luck. I live in Norway and we have winter now, the bike have been store inndoor, but cold. Now it has been standing inside a heatet garasje the last couple of days, but still nothing.. And one have any ideas for my problems?

I don't think they are connected..

Thanks

William

As a reply with just an acronym is pretty worthless, I did a wee search for you.

This post in particular, but there's other good advice in the thread.

Could someone with a 990 write a proper how-to?

Thanks, i wrote the first message from my cell, so i can explain better now.

The problems i got after i installed the airbox was code 49, when i attempt to start the bike nothing happends, ignition on and i tried to crank, but dead. To get it startet i have to twist the throttle from when i hit the key untill i have the bike started. It will not start if i dont twist the throttle. And when its still cold it will stal when i relase the throttle, this problem goes away when the bikes get up to normal temp.

I had a problem last year where all my power dissapeared, the problem was moist in on of the connectors down where the battery is. I finallly understand what bgc means now, so will check this later today

Thanks DMacL

Engine light still blinks and bike still refuses to start..

Any other ideas?

Check the connectors and wiring going to idle control valve too.

Is the battery holding it's voltage? ECUs (in general) can be fussy with low battery voltages.

Idle control motor has another connector in the wiring loom going to the throttle bodies I believe. (can't check now haven't got the bike here)
In my opinion you have moved something there. Easy to check if the iddle control works or not, start the bike from cold and see what it does.
Do you have tuneecu, you can check the idle control on that too?!

If the idle position is wrong the bike won't start. did you disturbed the tab on the idle controll maybe? At cold the pushrod need to touch the tab.
With the MH airbox it is easy to visually inspect if all is ok.
