Hi all,
I've got the g2 throttle cam kit on my SD with the 400 cam fitted and I'm going to change it to a slightly faster one, does any one know the comparasion of the rc8 tamer throttle tube against the g2 one,
I'm looking to fit the 300 which I've got to buy so Eather that or the rc8 one, hence the question,

Slower than standard makes absolutely no sense. May be 690 Duke is the answer, up to 120 kph (80 miles) its almost same as fast and lighter and more agile. No kidding, my pal in Spain has one and just sold his GSXR 1000 telling 690 is a lot more fun...

I have read all the way down, the only reference to the 200&400 cams is against it,
I want a throttle tamer not one that quickens it,

I wouldn't buy a throttle tamer. I struggled with the abrupt throttle around the 3000 to 4500 rpm range.
Finally fixed it with brainware! what works for me is softer front suspension than before, ride with arms loose. Tank grips will help too.
The duke doesn't like pulling stumps at low speeds anyway. Rev it up and everyone's happy.

The G2 throttle tamer is a good idea on the SD...IMHO. It's still a 1/4 turn throttle. The only differences between it and stock throttle tube are the first 1/3 of the rotation (it ramps up slightly less initially but by 1/2 throttle it's the same as the stock throttle cam) and it's made from billet aluminium with tighter tolerances than the OEM plastic item. It's also got teflon strips in the tube for smooth throttle action. Quality piece.
I'm not sure what the cam numbers equate to as I bought the fixed cam $60 vs multi cam $110ish. I would assume that the 300 cam is same as stock and 200 cam ramps up quicker while 400 cam ramps up the slowest. Just guessing here...others that have installed the multi cam version will be chiming in soon with proper info.
If my guess is right, most put the 400 cam in as it will accomplish a smoother off idle throttle transition. You'll also be rewarded with a nice tight throttle tube unlike the stock one which feels if it's 2 sizes too big for the 7/8 inch bars. Use plenty of silicon spray on the bar and in the tube. Slick as shit and will not attract dirt. Oh, and safety wire your grips on!
Cheers
