I'm trying to remove the heads on my 2007 990. I've got the tensioner loosened, but I still can't get the chain removed.

Any help?

Thank, much appreciated

I wonder if mine is different. 06 vs 07

Where he took out the needle bearing for the double timing chain gear, mine isn't like that. Mine just has an alan head long bolt that screws in further back. When I pull the alan head bolt out, nothing comes with it, so the bearing and support are still in the head holding the timing chain.

I must be missing something!

Thanks!

Enlist a small finger to coax it out, they (the bolt and needles) should easily come out together.

Maybe you have the tensioners still in, they could be applying pressure on the chain and sprocket and holding the bearing back.

Whatever it is seems to be stuck. I can't get to move at all. I pulled with tools and everything.

Anyone else ever had my problem?
