Hi, guys looking for some help
I would like to turn off my secondary butterflies, so I bought a cable from CJ Designs. When I open the program with the cable connected, the Triumph screen appears and when I turn on the ignition nothing changes. In about 30 seconds a pop up window appears, saying, "Ecu not responding: check cable connection.turn ignition off and on "
Am I missing something here? Is it possible the my cable is defective?
Since I live in the middle of nowhere, I don't have another cable to try and no one close who has any experience with this. Can you guys help?

Yes you are missing something here.
READ THE MANUAL FIRST!!!! Tuneecu can damage the ecu and your engine READ THE MANUAL FIRST!!!
What you need to do is download a ktm map for your bike first, doesn't need to be the right one but one close. Like SD or SDR and the same year.
If you open tuneecu then you can open that map and see the KTM stuff.
Alternatively you connect tuneecu to the bike and trun the key on and connect and download your map from your bike, this works too but first time it takes longer.
If you do any of these ways above you can then download the map from your bike and save it. Then you can modify it.
Keep in mind that you can't switch off the second butterflies if you didn't removed them. If you do they stay close and you have no throttle.
As mentioned above, before you play with this have a read mate, do yourself a favour.

I have the secondaries removed. The bike has been dynoed and tuned with with a power commander. For now I would like to shut off the secondaries only

One thing I forgot to mention is when you connect a cable or a device to the USB port on the computer it makes a two tone sound when connected and another two tone sound when disconnecting. When plugging in my tune ecu cable there is a sound that I have never heard before. I don't have much computer experience and I've tried to follow along with a couple of you tube videos with no luck. I'm stuck at the first part, check cable connection.

You are probably hearing the device unable to connect sound.
Have you tried what I explained in the posts I linked to?

Can I ask why have a power commander on and the tune ecu ?
What does the power commander do that you can not do with tune ecu ?

Thank you Bert for your time. I got it sorted out. Driver not installed correctly. I appreciate your help. And no FI light flashing!
Seems that most dyno tuners that I have talked to, do not want to touch tune ecu. And being that most have dynojet dynos with dynojet software it is an easy, safe, and profitable choice for them. So I have a powercommander.
KTM's are rare here and the most common V twin is a harley. When I had it dynoed, the tuner thought I was crazy that I was expecting 110 plus horsepower from a V twin. That was until he ran it

Seriously..as Bert said..
Easy to f up your ECU..Anyone on the forum live near you.??
Of course..that knows the tune ECU program.?? I'll throw it out there..
Come on guys..w here ya live bro.?? It's worth it to have someone walk
ya through it..An ECU isn't cheap..Unless you know 'puters well you just
might end up spending your extra dosh for nothing..
It's not hard..but its not hard to f it all up either..

I got it. There are so many pages of info that sometimes skips around ,and that I missed things. Once on there it seems pretty easy to navigate.

If you leave the shafts then you are right.
Removing everything will cause an error in the ECU that will cause the FI light to light up on the clocks.
