My current TuneECU map isn't enough to support the new standard RC8 stacks I put on the bike, so I'm trying to install a new tune. I used my buddy's laptop for the first tune since I have a Mac. He has moved away and now I've tried uploading the new tune (smoothened Akra) on another person's computer but no luck. Last night I completely screwed it up (installed TuneECU first, was still connected to the internet so I probably got the bad drivers, etc). So I started over on another person's computer. In a nutshell:

-I've downloaded the good drivers from TuneECU's website.
-Extracted them and put them in a zip-file (both 32-bit and 64-bit just to be safe).
-I plugged my TuneECU cable into the laptop and it won't recognize it. I went into My Computer and accessed the Control Panel and the cable is labeled "FT232R USB UART" and basically says driver error, connect to the internet to solve this problem.

Should I connect to the internet then? Otherwise the computer won't recognize the cable and won't give me the Hardware Wizard screen I need. But TuneECU's website tells me NOT to connect to the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Like I said in the DVS topic, download Parallels to your mac and install TuneECU and the right driver so you can do everything woth your own laptop.

The TuneECU website gives suggestions for the right drivers, I downloaded them and everything worked fine.

In TuneECU click "connect" if it doesn't recognize automatically.

I've downloaded the drivers from TuneECU. Last night I tried to connect the laptop to my bike and I couldn't connect them due to not having the correct drivers. I wasn't prompted for the install of the drivers or anything which is probably why it didn't work. I'm just trying to make sure that doesn't happen again. I would use my Mac however I had to delete my Windows partition due to running out of hard-drive space. I'm in the process of upgrading but I was hoping to solve this problem today. I've done it before, I don't know why it's giving me all these problems this time.

Since the drivers never installed themselves I went in and did it manually which is a little tricky on this laptop running Windows 8. I miss my OSX downloading TuneECU and my map now and with a little luck the bike will be retuned in about 10 minutes.

All is right with the world except for my bike EPC is unchecked and my bike is still flashing an error code at me for it. Hmmm...
