Hi Guys,

I'm running Metzeler M5 Interacts at the moment and after a few trackdays and the nurburgring the right side of my front tyre is on the limit. I have already replaced the rear.

I'm wondering if its ok to turn the tyre to maximise the life? I ride 90% road 10% track.

I know its a bit cheapskate but times are hard!

Cheers

Turning them is not the big problem as tyre contstruction has changed....Its more that the right side is Knackered changes the profile it is also the thickness of rubber that gives grip

If it was to do a right handed track ...ok ..but not for the road

Also in the wet the tread pattern would working the wrong way round ...pushing water to the middle rather than away

If it was a pure trackday tyre then id say yes, but not for road use!

As 666 stated the rain sipes will be running the wrong way and if you get caught out 1 day in bad weather you wont be too happy

Ive turned rears before when ive knackered the right hand side and then flipped them for afternoon use, but i wouldnt want to run them in the wet!

Thats kind of what I thought, I might keep hold of it for Cadwell. Although TBH I'll probably just get a new one in the end.

On a sidenote what about mixing tyres? I've also got an almost new bridgstone bt010 that I could bung on there?
