Owned my bike for about 3 years now and have put about 15,000km on it. I'm thinking that I should pre-emptively reokace my water pump parts as I see it's a bit of a thing. Is it worth it to upgrade to the newer style water pump used on the 09+ adventure and I believe the 990R models? I see it would cost about the same for the repair kit, but I'd need to add an extra $50 or so for the housing cover. I know the adventure and R bikes have different coolant passages to take advantage of the flow, so I'm thinking wasted money to upgrade?

Should I invest in the CJ Design kit for the standard 08 pumps?

I looked into this when I did the pump on my 05, and tbh once it was done its been spot on. I didn't bother trying the update . If everything works as its supposed to flow wise you should be fine without it.
