Well....after a few days of sorting stuff out me, marksim (off here) and my mate karl (also sd owner) were off out for a blast saturday. So at 12 i finished work and headed straight off to the bike to take the wheels off to have them swapped for my matzeler k1/k2's i picked up when i noticed a bit of oil under the bike so i looked around and fount it to be coming from my recently replaced oil level gauge on the side of the engine. so i tightened the top 1 and SNAP broke the bolt....fook! after panicing i just blanked it off with a spare bolt, then went to tighten the bottom 1 and SNAP....same as the top lol so capped that off as well. then needed oil in so proceded to add oil whilst yapping with my mate then added far far too much oil so then had to undo the bottom bolt to let some out. finally i can get around to swapping the tyres and go out for a ride, came back with tyres in hand to find that someone had been yanking on the brake lever and clamped the pads together....could i heel prise them apart, took me ages but managed it in the end after a lot of swearing and sweating. so off i trott to get changed and go to my pals to get his bike then go blasting , i got 200m when i heard the almighty thumping sound on the front of the engine i pulled over and got down to check it over when i could feel the air blasting out of the manifold for the akra pipes...i could even see flames where the petrol was lighting. after some more shouting and swearing i got it back to the garage to take a look so i took the first section of the exhaust off, clamp and gasket to find they all look intact and no problems so cleaned them up and put them back on but the same noise again with no joy? checked everything i can without taking the oil tank off and everything so i plan to order a new gasket and clamp tomorrow along with 2 bolts for the oil gauge thing so my question is has this happened to anyone else and is what im doing the right course of action?
