Hi guys
I am having a few problems with my 08 SDR and I am need some help !
It started with the bike idling at over 3000 revs when hot so I cleaned out the BGC plug and checked my TPS sensor
On tune ecu. The voltage was a little high so I set it again I also reloaded the map did the 15 min warmup and took it for a test drive everything seemed ok to start but then the bike just cut out on me after a few miles it would start and run for a few seconds then stop. After a number of attempts I got it to run to get me home but now It will sometimes run for a few seconds but then backfires and stops that bad sometimes it pops the throttle body's off !
I have gone over everything I have done but can't see anything wrong and there are no faults on tuneecu.
I am stumped anybody have any ideas ?

Have you run the engine with TuneECU hooked up?
Is the problem with one cylinder or both?
If only one, could be plug, coil pack and/or associated wiring,
If, more likely, both, check pulse generator - could also be failing TPS or, possibly, ECU.
Presumably, electrical power to clocks, lights, etc isn't failing also.

Hi
It's both cylinders that are cutting.
The only thing that I have touched is the TPS sensor but I didn't think it could cause this fault.
It seems to me to be more like a pulse generator do you know what resistance should be for the TPS and Pulse generator ?
I have never managed to get tuneecu to stay connected when I start the bike so can't get any readings when running

I had similar problems. Replaced my TPS and adjusted it to the right voltages. PRoblems went away.

Hi
I phoned the KTM centre and asked about a TPS sensor and they told me I had to replace the hole throttle body but I am guessing that's not the case ?

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=23541&p=291862&hilit=TPS#p291862 for the TPS part number.
TPS and pulse generator checks etc are in the repair manual downloadable here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=16897
Try firing up and connecting TuneECU once engine is running.

If I hold throttle on the bike when it does start the engine still cuts dead like I switched off the key.
I live on the Orkney isles and I am the only person with a superduke and the nearest KTM garage is a 2 hour boat journey and a 300 mile drive away so I don't have much help

Ditto if you can't find your spare TPS, CK.

Nice to see someone go straight to the BCG without prompting. Good luck with the TPS.
