AGRO!

AGRO!

Hi Guys,

Recently read the thread on changing my fork oil, the manual states do complete maintenance every 15000KM or every 2 years.
My bike is now 5 years old so i thought it was about time!

MY problem is, i followed the step by stem for changing the fork oil.
when i had the forks apart i left the rebound adjusted rod in on the first leg, no problem - emptied all the oil.
on the second leg while pumping the cartridge up and down getting the oil out the rebound adjusting rod came out.
i was fine with it as it made it a whole lot easier to drain the oil.

changed the oil, set the air gap etc etc, put the forks back together and back on the bike. awsome!

when emptying the old oil container i found a small spring.
now im not 100% sure where it came from but it must be from the forks.

i have looked online for a parts break down of the forks but not found anything indepth enough to show the parts of the cartridge.

pretty sure this small spring sits under the rebound rod and pushes it up against the rebound adjuster in the fork cap.

can anyone confirm this as i cant find much about it anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

Im not keen to pull apart both sides and dring my fresh oil to figure this out.
as if it does just sit under the rebound adjusted then i dont need to drain the oil to put the spring back in under the rebound adjusting rod.
