Yoyodyne slipper clutch questions.......

I usually am really good at figuring out how stuff works on my own, but for the life of me I can't wrap my head around the operation of this slipper clutch (mechanically how it actually does what it does). I inspected/studied the parts for a while before installing it, manipulated the pressure plate in the inner basket to try and figure it out but still couldn't. Some people were telling me there's ramps, but I couldn't find any (maybe didn't look hard enough......anyway.......the thing works, I just have a few questions about its operation from folks who have one.

First off it came with two sets of spring washers, thin (silver) and thicker (red). I'm assuming the reds offer more engine braking and the slivers (which are installed ATM) are basically light on the springs enough to allow the bike to have almost no engine braking (which is really weird). Correct me if I'm wrong in that assumption please!

Second is that I can feel every shift through the clutch lever now.......it's really bizarre, and has me concerned something is wrong. The clutch lever basically clicks or jumps at every throw of the shift lever. It's not a lot, but I can definitely feel it and it was never like that before. Anyone have a similar experience? What would cause that?

I'm very proficient at holding a steady brake pressure while blipping the throttle to rev-match for downshifting/modulating clutch pressure and had gotten used to the massive amount of back torque the engine offered during braking. The slipper has all but removed the engine braking so that's going to take some getting used to. Im going to take the silver washers out tomorrow & swap them for the reds to see what the difference is......I'm going to give it a try either way for a while......may just end up swapping back to the stock setup......not sure though.

I did late brake a few corners and bang the gears down early on the way home last night (midnight), not sure if it was the cool weather/tyres/pavement or the slipper, but it was pretty smooth when the rear started to step out, no drama, no chatter.

Will defer to others re Yoyodyne specifics, as I have differently 'sprung' Sigma, but clicking felt at clutch lever is perfectly normal characteristic of slipper clutch.

PS - re easily understood principle of slipper clutch, think centrifugal force.
