Hi
Just bought a 2007 superduke
Anyone know how to fit a 190/55/17 Tyre to a 2007 model ? Dealer says it cannot be done.. But i have heard racers fit them for the track.

Congrats on the new bike, and welcome.
Why would you want to fit an oversized tyre?
Fatter is not necessarily better.

Looks good.. and not sure it will make that much difference to the handling... Done it on a few bikes i've had..

hey davey..i had a tyre fitted last year and through the whole of its life ...about 2500 mls , i just couldnt work out what the problem was . it just felt as if it was about to wash out all the time when i tried to corner hard and i couldnt get anywhere near the edge of the tyre which isnt usually a problem. Only noticed when it came off and the handling was back to its sweet normal. It was a 190.So i would say stick with the 180 ....this was on a 2005 though which is a bit quicker steering than the 2007.....so guesss this was a bit irrelavent....i'll post anyway ..peace

Thanks.. looked like there was not much space to spare.. so bought a set of 180 Mitchelin pilot road 2's.. Dont look as good s a 190 would... but they are ok... One thing that was a bit worrying , i had a wobble at about 160 KMS. I Checked on the forum and i'm told it can be tyre pressure , which was 2.7 bar from the dealership (very high) or a loose neck bolt... Will hopefully get to ride this weekend.. Hope its a bit more stable!!!

haha i remember my early days of superduke ownership . fantastic but the wobbling just got worse the faster i tried to go . i set up the static sag and learned to grip with my knees not my hands and be accurate with the throttle. voila superb bike. just upset by its rider until he got in tune with it . wouldnt swap it for anything.. happy days

Yip.. had second ride yesterday.. looks like the duke is it's own animal.. have to adapt a bit from superbikes.... Seems VERY responsive to every movment on the handle bars... Already getting my head around it... EXPECTING LOADS OF FUN!!
