been trying to get the hang of this for a few days now but with no luck...just after some pointers really on how to blip the throttle to change down gears while under hand braking.....before a corner say.

What I do is: 2 fingers on the brake, and I use the rest to turn the throttle during downshifts, it took me 2 afternoons of riding before I got the timing right, but once you do it's easy, and no more lock up

Make sure your throttle cable is adjusted so there's the min amount of play. Do this up at the throttle grip. If you've got it too tight it will idle high or the revs will go up when you turn the bars.
I started doing at as soon as i passed my test.......purely coz the BSB guy did it and it sounded cool.
Then it's just a little flick on downshifts. It's a must on the SD without a slipper. I missed one on the downshift into Hissys on wed, wasn't agressive enough wth the blips and rear was all over the place.
Another thing i notice is the bike seems to like and early as possible downshift on each gear with a good hard blip, that seemed to keep it real smooth an settled. I tried braking hard and going back two at towards the end of the braking zone and it was like it was bogging a bit if that maked sence and the blip wasn't enough to settle it.
It's like the wheelies dude, once you get your ear tuned in to how it should sound and feel it'll all come good.

Maybe don't think of it as "blipping" ?
I know it sounds like that when other people do it but when you are on the bike you just quickly raise the revs so the gear change slides in.
I reckon it is a vital riding skill as it lets you get steady engine braking at the right time and (to me) is a big part of the fun in twisties and part of the skill of mastering each type of bike.
personally
I think it helps to learn this on a weedy bike so when you lock it up the first time it is at about 15mph

im already a blipper, i blip the throttle whenever im changing down but cant get the hang of hard braking and blipping with my big clumsy bear hands think il try and adjust the brake lever closer to the throttle so im not having to reach to grab it as much and see how i go.

3 fingers on the brake lever is the way I do it. Took a afternoon of practice to master it.

Klinck's right
Thumb and index finger around the throttle and Middle to Little on brake leaver (I some times just use thumb on throttle)
