Thanks for that. I meant left to right. I kept them in order front to back.
I actually assumed it would be okay and went and did it, and then I lined up the cut out tabs (they weren't lined up to start with, probably due to a lazy person on the assembly line in Mattighofen). I also lined up the last one. I hope it'll be okay anyway, because I really don't want to take it all apart again. It seems to work alright. I didn't notice any faulty behavior when I test rode it.

Even though everyone described the orientation (axial) of the clutch plates perfectly (including the semi-circular notch alignment, first and last plates, etc.), thought I'd add a couple of notes for others who may be doing a clutch pack replacement, slipper install, etc:
- I suggest soaking (or at least dipping) all friciton plates and steels in motor oil before installing them.
- The steel plates have an orientation also; one outside edge is sharp and the other is rounded (slightly). The sharp outer edged face of these plates should face outward. That is, away from the engine (the face you can see when installing them).
- The first and last friction plates have different material on one side of them, as they are in contact with aluminium (vs. steel contact for all the other plates). Its important that these two facing the correct direction (as noted above, orientation of only the last plate is important relative to the others).
- The first plate has a larger ID than all the other plates, as it needs to clear the supporting plate (the first metal ring fit on the basket) and the spring washer.
- Spring washer direction is important. The outer edge of this washer be away facing from the engine (toward you when installing ).
- I can readily recommend the use of the crankshaft blocking screw (0113080802) and the clutch basket holder (60029003000).
Mods: please feel free to relocate this re-post/re-locate to a more appropriate thread if needed.
