I am an avid Ebay fan, selling can be a rip off but infact most of the bits from my house have come from Ebay, far cheaper than most places let me tell you, only problem is you cant always assure quality if its not in the flesh.
Following a recent thread it appears some people need some instruction/help to save cash in these time of austerity so here is my quick and easy guide:
Im presuming you have a basic understanding of Ebay
SEARCHING FOR A GENERIC ITEM
OK we want a paddock stand for example, but there are 100's of them and it will usually arrange them into either BEST MATCH or TIME ENDING SOONEST, and we want the cheapest! so after putting "front paddock stand" in the search field, scroll across to the drop down box and select PRICE P&P LOWEST FIRST:
It then re-arranges them cheapest first, do not confuse with Price lowest first because, you NEED the P&P low too.
You can get rid of the auctions and click the BUY IT NOW tab because we cant be arsed to bid today and want it now:
This will then just have BUY IT NOW auctions with the cheapest at the top.
Also good if you want to search for auctions only.
If you want a new motorbike for example press the DISTANCE NEAREST button brings you bikes nearest your house first.
Or TIME NEWELY LISTED if you search regulaly and just want to see the latest editions.
I dont really use any of the other buttons on the drop down.
ADVANCED SEARCHING
So you have searched the UK for the part you want for your SD but cant find it? maybe I should try a wider search?
Put SUPERDUKE through the search field and then click on the ADVANCED button:
This gives you loads of options some of which are self explanitory but if you scroll down you can get it to show you the items from Europe OR worldwide:
Results will come back and you can again revert to Auctions earlier as shown earlier to grab a bargain in France for example.
Sometimes parts are interchangeable between bikes, or some people list an item as Superduke or Super duke to save you seaching twice do this:
As long as its in brackets and commas will bring back all three, or however many you want, you could put (SMT, SMR, duke, adventure) etc.
Really need a superduke subframe after being rear ended by an errant ducati and none on ebay?
After searching SUPERDUKE SUBFRAME (and presuming nothing has come up) click on the SAVE SEARCH button and will send you an email when one is listed:
EXTRAS
Not in when the auction is going to end???? dont want to get bidding fever and pay too much????
Try a bidding website that bids for you such as http://www.bidnip.com/ there are loads about, thats just the one I use.
Fancy one of Freestylers Auctions beacuse its not spelt right???
Try one of these and see how many reults come up for alpinestars or dainese http://www.misspelledauctions.co.uk/
Let me know if thats of any help, mines an Appletini

Love it. Whilst I know most of these (cept the spelling sites) I always forget em and need reminding. there seems quite a few ways to spell "hydraulic" when looking

Makes me laugh at the misspelled auction titles where the product photo shows the correct spelling
