Hi Chaps,
Just bought a set of scrub wets for my RC8, looks like rain at Snetterton next week
Never used them before, I don't use warmers. I was at Donny a few weeks back which felt like ice skating on my rosso corsa's so felt the need to buy these.
Question is, how hard can I push them compared to road tyres. Are they really as good as people say? How easy is it to train your mind that you're not gonna bin it in the rain?
All advice gratefuuly received!

You need tyre warmers....
You will not be able to push them enough to get them hot....if they are not hot .....vicious circle

Everyone has a different opinion on the use of warmers with them. Apparently the working temp is much lower so less need.
I might hire some from NL...

Theyre not designed to be run hot dude.
You will be absolutley fine going out with no warmers and the grip will increase within a lap. They're mega soft.
If you want things to be constant put warmers on for 15-20mins just to warm the tyre and get some heat in the carcass, unplug them and leave them on the tyres. Get them to, say, 40 deg and they will run at that in the wet.
Put warmers on and leave them and the tyre will be like chewing gum. It'll stick like shit to a blanket for a lap then cool and the grip will go away from you rather than stay constant or come to you. And like Stew says it'll shag the compound.
If you fire them on, set the pressures, and get out there you'll think they're the best tyres ever made. Grip and feel is incredible.
Just watch them as the track dries as they move loads and will overheat quick and rip themselves to bits.

Thanks for the advice Guys, this could by my first full on proper wet day. What pressures would you run? Can't find info easy from Pirelli/Metzeler.
In a strange way I'm looking forward to it I just got a lovely pair of racetec scrubs too, typical.
