This bike is awesome!
You have 3 maps to choose, and the power delivery is very nice.
Ok, is not an LC8 engine... but for a fun bike and short trips.... I'm really sold.

But who wants a SD isn't bothered by that, or at least I wasn't.
I wanted a light ( compared with a 1992 vfr it wasn't a difficult task LOL), powerful, torquy bike that handled extremelly well on the twisties.
And the SD does all that but the Duke III doesn't.
I believe that a person that wants a SD will never be fully satisfied by the Duke III

The sort of road anyone who had invested in an SD. would not go, with purpose.(Gravel strewn with sheep nibbling on the grass down the centre. )
Have to say that the Dukes suspension. As stock. Is far to hard for this kind of road. Tyres are also not best. Will post pics. If you like?
I am going to be in touch with my SD's new owner.
I suggest. I may challange/accompany him, down his regular route.

I've been reading about SD EFI hassles for days/weeks and today I've been wondering if I wouldn't be better off with a 690 Duke. But I doubt it. I've got a Baghira SM (almost new, that's been sitting for more than a year because I haven't had time and place to put it back together after some 'perfectioning' that stopped abruptly when I no longer had a garage, but still, not long before I have it goAning), and a Pulsar 180 that I use for in-town 10km commuting to work. And, I can get a new 2006 SD Battle Replica with Akras for about 5% more than the 690, and the 690 would still need an exhaust.
